As the owner of Wendy Baker Photography, Wendy Baker has honed her technical and creative skills for over twenty years as a commercial and portrait photographer. In her fine art work she is drawn to and often creates with muted colors and symbolic images-- Her art pieces are feminine--part dream, part reality and entirely her vision. They arise out of her inner life where she seeks to experience the magical spiritual nature hidden within the visible.
She often photographs architectural elements–from exquisite details to expansive cityscapes. In experiencing the colors, shapes, textures and sounds of human-created spaces she feels a connection with the artists who created these spaces and also with the people who are drawn to them.
Baker has exhibited her photographs in galleries – both local and international – including:
Group Show: Blue Line Arts, Roseville, California; Group Show: Viewpoint Gallery, Sacramento, California;Solo Exhibition of her series, Urban Dreamscapes—Viewpoint Gallery, Sacramento, California; Group Show: Conceptual Portraits— Sacramento Fine Arts Center, California; Group Exhibition, Absences—Millepiani Gallery, Rome, Italy; Group Exhibition, Images of Illinois—Springfield Art Association, Illinois.
Her photographs have appeared in Artist's Talk Magazine, November, 2022; Don’t Take Pictures, June 2021; Living the Artistic Life, May 2016 and Celebrating the Artistic Process—An Exhibition at Photo Place Gallery.
